Dbacks win Mid Season Charity Tournament 11-9 against Sr Yanks
Dbacks celebrate after winning charity tourney championship

Thursday June 26/2008
Terra Cotta The Sr Yanks and Habs provided one of the best games of the season, with the Yanks eventually winning in 9 innings 6-5.
The Yanks scored an early run in the first inning when pitcher Jordan Schemi was hit by a pitch this would foreshadow the ending of the game, after reaching base on the HBP Schemi scored on a Matt Antolin RBI single. The Yanks and in particular Jordan Schemi held that lead until late in the game. Jordan Schemi who retired the first 10 batters he faced before walking a Hab, retained his no hit bid until with 2 out in the 6th inning Dyllan Morin Labonte hit a 2-1 pitch rocket over the fence in right field to tie the score at 1. At this point in the game the habs were being out hit 9-1 but were tied in runs 1-1. The starting pitchers were both dominant in their own fashion Paul Robillard constantly pitching out of jams and Jordan Schemi who just kept rolling along leaving the game after 7innings only giving up a run on 2 hits. The habs explode for 4 runs in the first extra frame on a 2RBI double from Dyllan Morin labonte and a 2RBI single from Richard Guerzon things looked in control going into the bottom of the 8th inning for the Habs. After pitching to 2 batters in the bottom of the 8th Paul Robillard's arm finally became human and he had to remove himself from the contest after pitching 19 innings over the last 3 days. The Yanks took full advantage of the situation getting some base on balls and a timely RBI hit by Ohmarr Morris who eventually would come around to score the run to tie the score and send the game into the 9th inning, Morris scored on a 2 out wild pitch. In the 9th inning as in the first Jordan Schemi was hit by a pitch and would eventually come around to score the winning run, deservedly so for Schemi who pitched a gem.

Wensday June 25/2008
The Knights won 19-5 against the red hot Flaming Homers, who had won 6 straights, after taking an early lead off fire ball pitcher Julien Bruneau due to poor defensive support. The Flaming Homers tried to battled back, but failed to capitalize on their limited opportunities due to the near flawless defence of the Knights.

All star slugger Marc Lapierre almost gave a boost to the flaming homers offense, but missed a homerun by an inch as his hit was ruled a foul ball. No, it was not an easy night for the Flaming Homers.

The tall righty Mathieu Françis pitched well in relief, but like his predecessor, he was not helped by his defence as the massacre continued and the Flaming Homers' offense was shut down. However, the Flaming Homers did show glimpses of the talent trough out the game, as they executed a spectacular double play started by gold glove calibre third baseman Shariff Mirshak and executed spectacular catches.

The Flaming Homers will look to rebound on Saturday as speedsters Larry B and G will come off the DL and be eligible to play.
